takob akob waterfall
Only after the last tree has been cut down;
Only after the last fish has been caught;
Only after the last river has been poisoned;
Only then will you realize that money cannot be eaten.

Lady With The Jinx

© by Forest Ang
......Bad luck after bad luck.....

I never wanted to believe it.

Some ten years ago, we made a trip to the east coast of Peninsular Malaysia. This lady was jealous with another lady in the same car. Her face was sour. The sky was cloudy. The mood was stained. The journey was eventful.

At Pasir Putih, we got a speed trap ticket. Then another speed trap ticket near Kuala Trengganu. Two tickets on the same day!! Is this jinxed.

Few months later, another journey was made with this same lady. The tyre of our car got punctured.

On one boating trip, the wind was strong and the engine stalled for some hours. The lady was on the trip too.

There were countless trips we made and at each, there was sure to have a bad mishap. The last trip was only in 2002. Our bus broke down. We were stranded for some hours.

Last month (July 2003), I heard from my friend that this lady jinx joined a hiking trip. The bus that was to take them home did not arrive for some hours. I was not there then.

Unaware, we sometime have problems in trip. And there are causes. Believe it or not, jinx is one of them.

By writing this, I truly hope the jinx can be broken.

Take care!
